After Roger Dibnah’s recent post abut Betsy, Fred’s Steam Roller, making an appearance next year, it seems that over the last couple of days Betsy has been on the move again for the first time since it was removed out of Fred’s former residence in the winter of 2006 after a spate of burglaries.
It’s now with Jack and Roger Dibnah on the Isle of Man. Congratulation to Jack, Roger and team for finally being able to get her ‘home’.
Roger /Jack Just great news that besty is back where it belongs, hope to see you back on the road keeping up the Dibnah tradition. Fred must be so proud of you, all best wishes for the future Phil.
well done three cheers for roger and jack for saving this piece.!!!!!
thanks jack and roger for not letting anything else stolen of betsy
well done
That’s superb news, so glad Betsy is safe and sound.
Saw Betsy yesterday (3 Sept) at the Great Dorset Steam Fair. Couldn’t see who was driving her though. Roger and/or Jack presumably?
I have been the owner of a T Coleman & sons Ltd tar pot made in 1936, for the past 45 years I am now in my 80 year and slowed down a bit so am thinking of restoring it if you are intrested I can send photos.
George.

I’m working on a 1/48 – scale model of “Betsey”, by Duncan Models. I missed the Dorset Steam Fair this year, the first time in 12 years. I would have taken scores of pictures of the Roller, which would have helped with getting the model right!
I’m so glad Fred’s Boys are taking such care of the machine, and their dad’s heritage.
Graham.
well done to jack and rodger betsy is a fantastic roller and would of being sad if all the hard work fred put into it was wasted a big well done
Well done boys!
Well done boys good luck.
