    Hi

I work for the publisher who has recently released Fred Dibnah: The Early days. I was wondering if you would like a jpeg of the cover for your site as you have it listed for sale.

    Hi Michelle

That would be very kind of you, thank you. A sneak preview image of any of the inside would be the cherry on the cake but perhaps I ask too much. :)

    Hi there

i was hoping that you could help me,

I’m trying to track down a dvd or video of fred’s 1970′S OR 1980′S BBC tv programme.I checked all the major retailers and they don’t have it.

A real dvd or copy will be fine

So if you could me know if any’one you know does have a copy or know where to get it as it a gift for my father who is a big fan.

    many thanks

    Marc

      Hi Marc.

Fred’s early work is tough to get hold of. I understand that much of it was not released to DVD because of licensing issues but it was released on VHS in the day.

I’m thinking that if you were able to get a VHS copy there are high street companies that will transfer it to DVD (you will need to ‘ask nicely’ as there may be copyright issues with doing so).

To source a VHS copy I would head for eBay, and do a search for “fred dibnah vhs” (you can even set up an email alert that will notify you when new items are listed.

Let us know how you get on.

I`ve long been a fan of dear old Fred, and I`m watching `made in britain` at the moment.
Can you tell me where the garden centre was that Fred visited, where all the electricity and heatwas generated by steam?

    Many thanks

Hello, I’ve just posted a never before seen video of the late Fred Dibnah on Youtube. I’ve recently taken this off one of our home movie vhs’ !

Fred was originally called to the Glynllifon Estate in North Wales to demolish the chimmney stack, but ended up restoring the steam engine instead.

My father has owned the old De Winton Foundry in Caernarfon since 1988 where the steam engine was originally built, so was there when it was run, as Fred puts it “First time for 50 years.”

My father is behind the camera.

I was lucky enough to meet Fred several times while visiting my son in Yorkshire.I also spoke to him at shows,My question is this .I made some very fine model chimneys for Fred which i presentred to him.He was very delighted. They stood about three foot high and were very detailed.Fred remarked they are so fine they should be in a museum for all to see.He loved them and displayed them in his house windows for passers by to see.I made about five or six in all and each one had a model of Fred either climbing a the ladders on the chimney, lighting the fires, standing on a demolished chimney ect ect .I even gave him an exact model of his land rover all sign written as well.I was wondering what has happened to these because if they are no longer required and leaving to deteriate i would ;love to have them back to present to my local steam museum .Also if i could find eith Jack or Rogers email i could get in touch with them with my questions. So if anyone can help please mail me. many thanks Roger Lee

      Dear Mr Wild

      Thank you for your message.

I have removed the text that I quoted and screenshot of same from Sheila Dibnah’s web site as requested.

Can I ask who 5th Management is? Do they represent the new owners or are they Sheila’s managment company?

    Hi,

Does anybody know where I can get a copy on either DVD or video of Fred Dibnah the original 1979 60 minute documentry or the 1980 Fred Dibnah Steeple Jack the first series with I think 6 episodes

    Kind Regards

    • Joe says:

      Hi Andy

I picked a VHS copy of Fred’s original documentary on eBay at the start of last year, (had to bend a couple of rules to have it convered to DVD so I can watch it on my DVD player). If you sign up for eBay then do a search link this, you can have eBay email you daily once new items matching the search at put up for sale. They never send spam and you can stop the emails whenever you want.

I understand that his first series was simply called “Fred” but I’ve not been able to confirm any of the details of that VHS.

I hope this is of some help. And please let us know if you have any luck finding these programs.
