FRED Dibnah’s home is set to become a visitors’ centre after council officers recommended planning approval Leon Powsney and his wife Jan snapped up the Radcliffe Road property earlier this year and have spent the last few months putting proposals together for its conversion.
The plans have received 37 letters of support and three objections on the grounds of car parking problems, increased visitors to the area and invasion of privacy.
Fred lost his battle with cancer in 2004.
Mr Powsney has also applied for permission to turn the former toilet and store into a modern toilet facility for visitors.
Both applications, which are being recommended for approval by planning officers, are to be discussed at tomorrow’s planning committee meeting at Bolton Town Hall.
