The official opening date for the Heritage Centre at Fred's former residence is due for 15th June, less then a week away. It seems that the team over at the Heritage Centre have just discovered they need a complete rewiring before they cn get their Heath & Safety certificate. More details are in this email that went out recently.

Hi hope you are well, I am sending this email out to all my Fred fan contacts so please dont think I have singled you out, I am sorry to burden you with my problems as I am sure you all have your own, but I have just today found out that we need a complete rewire of Freds yard, including the big workshop, the work shed, the boiler house in fact every bit of electrical wiring, lighting and power needs updating as it is ancient and it will not satisfy a test for a certificate, which of course we have to have.

The total cost is in the region of £10k and to be perfectly honest I cannot fund that kind of cost myself at this time having
spent the last 18 months on a sabatical from my business to work on Freds place, so I am asking you if you have not sponsored a brick or bricks yet then please help us and sponsor one or more, if you have already done so then I know its asking a lot but I need your help and if you can sponsor any more bricks it would be of tremendous assistance, if you cannot help us yourself can you get some pals or family to help. There is also of course the option of taking a look at our super new catalogue of excellent new products we have had designed which will be very collectable and are exclusive to us, and every item we sell will help us with this mammoth task, see our website http://www.freddibnahheritagec…..ntre.co.uk.

Once again sorry to burden you but I am totally committed to this project and I would hate to see something like this stop us from opening, I have put so much into this that I am determined to see it through whatever happens.

many thanks for your support and I hope you can help.

Kindest regards Leon

Yet another email from Leon over at the Heritage Centre which is due to open in a week's time:

From: leon powsney
Subject: SOS from Freds
Message:Hi hope you are well, I am sending this email out to all my Fred fan contacts so please dont think I have singled you out, I am sorry to burden you with my problems as I am sure you all have your own, but I have just today found out that we need a complete rewire of Freds yard, including the big workshop, the work shed, the boiler house in fact every bit of electrical wiring, lighting and power needs updating as it is ancient and it will not satisfy a test for a certificate, which of course we have to have.

The total cost should be the region of £10k, however we have an electrician who is prepared to do the work free so we just need to find the £3,100 for the eqipment needed which is almost at cost, and to be perfectly honest I cannot fund that kind of cost myself at this time having spent a fortune on Freds place already of my own money getting it ready to open and the last 18 months on a sabatical from my business to work on Freds place, so I am asking you if you have not sponsored a brick or bricks yet then please help us and sponsor one or more, if you have already done so then I know its asking a lot but I need your help and if you can sponsor any more bricks it would be of tremendous assistance, if you cannot help us yourself can you get some pals or family to help. If you know of any companies that would like to advertise in our programme or that would simply like to make a donation to our fund, that would be very helpful.

Once again sorry to burden you but I am totally committed to this project and I would hate to see something like this stop us from opening, I have put so much into this that I am determined to see it through whatever happens.

Another update on the above.

It seems that the rewiring was done by Dave and Alison of APEX building services (web address? http://www.apex-builders.co.uk/ )

Make sure you send some business the way of the above companies, they have done great work at the Heritage Centre.
