After what looks like (not officially announced but) exciting news that the Heritage Centre will open on the 14th June, I was a little concerned to get this email forwarded to me this morning:

Subject: Fred Dibnah appeal

Message: hi guys yes its me again, I know some of you will have already sponsored a brick or more, and I thank you for that, but I am sorry to say the majority have not yet, I am sure you meant to but I know every day things get in the way and it gets left to another day, then gets forgotten, however I am sorry to say that so far its been very slow and we are nowhere near our target.

I desperately need this to work folks or we aint going to make it, I cannot do it on my own, and I am breaking my back here trying to get the work done, but we need materials and we need contractors in for the major work, please, please go to our website and sponsor a brick and get your pals and family to do the same, if you all sponsor just one brick we will surge ahead, if you sponsor two that would be fantastic, but if you dont then we are going to really struggle.

I am grateful for your support in the past, please help us to make Freds dream come true.

Phrases like "aint going to make it" & "we are going to really struggle" puts a bit of a damper, I wonder if the eBay auction of tickets to the opening of the Heritage Centre was a little premature.
