Just received an couple of updates from the Heritage Centre. The first one is a couple of weeks old (opps…sorry Leon), the second just came in today:

Hi this is just to let you know of a couple of recent developments, sorry if you have already had a previous email but couple of changes since then, please read on .

Please be advised that on the 20th November the Holiday inn Bolton will be holding an evening event to help raise funds for the repair of Freds chimney, there will be a three course dinner, followed by a very entertaining talk by Sheila Dibnah, and hopefully an equally entertaining talk by myself ( Leon ) about my experience of buying Freds place and the trials and tribulations of setting it up as a heritage centre, there will be a raffle of some memorabilia, and an auction, it will be a night to remember, accomodation is available at the Holiday inn, for details and bookings please call the Holiday inn on 0871 942 9090 cost of the evening is £29.50 which includes the dinner.

We are proud to announce ( at last :-) that we are now able to offer "STAGE 2" DVD after a loooong wait, its now available so please get your orders in early to avoid disappointment, it has some really good footage of us working to get Freds place ready for visitors, it shows me falling on my backside and nearly getting crushed by a rather large coping stone, its well worth watching and we are sure it will cheer you up over the coming winter months, price £11.99 + .99p p&p, Stage one dvd is still available at the same price ( we had to burn some more due to popular demand ) if you want them both we can offer a discount.

Secondly again due to popular demand, we asked you if you wanted a "Friends of the Heritage centre supporters club" and have had an excellent response, so heres the deal ;

For an annual subscription of £20 you will get a twice annual emailed newsletter, with some great stories of Fred, some briliant pictures, some previously unseen video footage, a chance to send in your own stories of meeting or seeing Fred out and about, guest articles, some articles by our fantastic volunteers, there will be a buy and sell classified ads section, discount deals on our exclusive memorabilia, and of course up to date news on whats been happening here, what jobs we are attempting to do next, what jobs we have done here, a chance to voice your opinions or idea's.

You can if you wish upgrade to our premier membership for an extra £10 per annum, we are setting up a new website with exclusive access available to premier members, yes it is a way of raising funds but we promise to give you value for money, there will be extra previously unseen video footage, extra discount deals, freebies, and much more to be announced.
Every 6 monthly issue will include a draw and the winner will recieve a free ticket voucher worth £12.

The very first historical issue will be out in December 2010 so get your order in now with your subscription, If you wish to subscribe to our "Friends of the FDHC supporters club" please reply asap so we know the numbers, please advise also if you wish to upgrade, you can pay by either paypal, or send a cheque made out to The Fred Dibnah Heritage centre, or pay by credit card by calling 0780 1255486, or 0797 681 2596.

If you have a stories about Fred you think the other members would like to hear about, please write in or email us.

Many thanks for your time and we look forward to hearing from you

kindest regards

Leon

hi again, we are busy putting together the FRIENDS OF FDHC SUPPORTERS CLUB newsletter and are having a big push now for memberships, the more members that subscribe the more work we can get done on FREDS PLACE in readiness for next year.

We are currently working on the chimney ( we have decided to repair it, which is hard work and expensive but its our preferred method and also yours too according to the vote we sent out to everybody) but we do need some help, and by subscribing to the FDHC supporters club you will be helping us enormously, but at the same time getting something of value for your money.

There are two options, the first being the "friends of " FDHC supporters club 6 monthly newsletter at £20 subscription pa, which will be packed with info on what we are doing here, how we are doing it, when we are doing it, who is helping us, and some clues as to who isnt helping us ( tongue in cheek as we dont wish to get sued ) lots of gossip, some interesting stories about Fred, ( if you have any yourself please tell us and we can include them in the next issue ) there will be discounts offered on all sorts of things. Some great pictures and in general we will be looking to keep you updated on whats going on here, with articles by our fantastic volunteers, and guest writers.

There will also be the "PREMIER" membership at £30 pa subscription , the difference between the "friends of " newsletter and the "premier" is that the premier members will have exclusive access to a website set up specifically for them and will have more up to date info than the standard, with previously unseen video footage, it will take extra time up hence the little extra charge, its going to be a little suck it and see at first of course but i think it will be very popular, there will also be even more discounts off FDHC goods and hopefully off other companies that will be advertising with us, in other words i am going to try to give real value for money in exchange for your support, so its a win win situation.

We are hoping to have the newsletter and Premier website up and running for christmas so you can enjoy it over the hols whilst you digest your christmas pud.

Please email me asap if you wish to join and thank you for your time

best wishes Leon
