Someone is selling one of Fred's caps along with a COA.
If anyone asks you about the Late, Great, Dr Fred Dibnah MBE, probably the first thing that comes into your mind, apart from his Steam Roller, Betsy, is his flat cap.
I was very fortunate to add this particular "Fred" cap to my extensive collection of "Dibnahbilia" in 2007 when it came onto the market through ebay. Prior to bidding on the item at the time I contacted Sheila Dibnah, Freds Widow, in order to ascertain its authenticity. Sheila confirmed, in the letter that accompanies this item that Fred owned and donated this cap to a charity event in the mid 1990's. I have since found out that Fred also donated many other caps to various other charities. I have been fortunate enough to purchase one that is also signed and dated so this one simply has to go!
The cap also comes with a computer printed, storage worn, A4 picture that, I assume, shows Fred with the people that bought the cap on the night.
The cap, made by Beaver of Bolton (reportedly Freds favourite cap maker) in size "small", is in worn but very good condition.
