Leon, while we have you here how about heading over to the Forum and giving us 5 minutes about the new stuff that’s been going on in the centre? I’m sure twice as many people would be interested in that.

Thanks to all of you for your positive comments It really has been a long hard road, and as if we have’nt got enough crap to deal with from officialdom we get morons like this “JOHN” who doesnt even have the guts to write his full name, making truly spiteful and nasty comments, if he had any decency, which he obvioulsy hasnt, and thought that much of Fred then he might realise that Freds long term dream was to turn his home and garden into a heritage centre, in fact he applied for planning consent for this in 1999 and was turned down, so in actual fact “JOHN” Fred is probably dancing in his grave at the good news that we succeeded where he failed, so why dont you go back under that stone you crawled out from under and let us honest people who i might add “ALWAYS” worked for a living get on with the job of preserving Freds memory with the wonderful legacy he left us, rather than letting it rot which is obviously what you would prefer to let it do. In other words “get a life”.

I’d just like to say thanks to Leon and anyone connected in preserving one of Britain’s national treasures. The memory of Fred, and the great work he undertook in celebrating Britain’s past should be supported, not criticised.

I think it’s great what you’re doing and I’m delighted to learn that this place exists… I really hope you can keep it going. I hope to visit the next time I’m in England. Is there any Heritage funding out there that you could maybe get to help with your costs?

Put it this way, when its gone its gone! I regret never getting to meet the man himself,im sure others share this feeling? The same could be said for seeing hands on, the great things he spent his time and enthusiasm making.

I shouldnt think that there’s a great deal of money to be made from the Heritage Centre, so perhaps ‘cashing in’ is a bit over the top? Id have thought the new owners must have a genuine passion and belief in the place and Fred.

No im not on the payroll….

This is no reflection on your site Joe, but I really never have the time to sit and read forums as I am too busy working on Fred’s place, I have only taken a look today because a visitor to our centre told me there were some pretty negative posts left by what appeared to be some belligerent people, so although I really don’t have the time, I thought I would put the record straight, some of these people seem to sit around on their arses finding fault with honest peoples attempts to preserve important pieces of our heritage which is what we are doing, instead of just talking about it, its very easy to pass judgement and to make snide comments, Like for instance John saying its disgusting etc.

what is disgusting is that these people aren’t prepared to help preserve Fred’s legacy but they are quick to criticize when they have absolutely no idea what we have been through to get where we are now, the cheapy watches I was selling was my stock that I had spent years building up, this stock was worth thousands of pounds and it was sold off so I could have something to live on whilst working on Fred’s place, instead of name calling or making negative comments why don’t these people either offer to help or just shut up.

And incidentally Daryll I don’t recall your offer but if you did offer to help you are more than welcome to help, we are not afraid of you getting ” a free entry” we have a fantastic team of volunteers and I can assure you we treat them with the utmost respect, and no they don’t pay to come in.
