More House Tours early 2010?

Just came across the below from an eBay sale of Heritage Centre memorabilia:

Q: Hiya. Are you guys planning to do any more tours of Freds home and workshop in the near future? How are things looking for the place to be opened up as a heritage/memorial/museum site? Do you guys stil have Freds landrover? would love to see that. Many thanks John

A: hi john our planning consent application to open as a heritage centre to celebrate fred rather than a memorium the decision was deferred we had to provide further details and do a lot of running around to satisfy the council due to a couple of miserable neighbours objecting but we are confident we will get consent, if we do we may have a celebration evening after christmas which i can let you have details of nearer the time we have a dvd on sale of some of the work being done so far but we have a lot to do yet and are working on idea’s to raise funding many thanks Leon ps the land rover is long gone sorry

Hi Sarah, going by the details above if the council planning permission meeting goes well on the 7th Jan there will indeed be further open nights. I’ll post here once I hear anything.

      Hi Sue

The Heritage Centre has some items for sale on their eBay page, the nicest item is a mini-statue of Fred (it’s an exact copy of the one in Bolton city centre), it’s being sold for about £60 pounds with the money going to the Heritage Centre funds.

Let us know what you go for.

    Hi
I am visiting Yorkshire from 15th February and would love to come over to Bolton to see Freds House – is there any chance you are open for a visit any day that week.

    Thanks Dave

Hi. Any more news on visits to Fred’s House? Would you be prepared to open for us if we booked in advance? It is my husband’s 65th birthday and we have to travel from Sussex so would need to know in advance as we have to book accommodation somewhere as well. Here’s hoping …
    Best wishes, Stephanie

    • Joe says:

Hi David & Stephanie, we’ve heard nothing new since the news that planning permission was granted for the Heritage Centre. The official opening of the centre is planned for April 2010.

    • Joe says:

Hello H Brown, seems you just missed my post above. To clarify, we’ve heard nothing about the extra open days, but we’ve had confirmation that the Heritage Centre is aiming to be opened on (what would have been) Fred’s birthday in April 2010.
