I grew up in Glasgow and for as long as I can remember we always watched Fred on T.V. We never missed an episode. He reminds me of myself in a lot of ways….always tinkering with something or other.I spent a lot of time in Manchester, Bolton ,and Blackpool and my closest friends came from Bolton. The Lancashire accent has always been one of my favourites and every time I heard Fred speak I would imitate him. I moved to America eight years ago and among other things, I missed a lot of British T.V. programmes. When I found Fred’s site online I was overjoyed. I watch his little snippets often and smile, as it reminds me of my younger days in the U.K.
I was deeply saddened when I heard of Fred’s passing and I have tears in my eyes as I write this.He was a simple, down to earth person in a lot of ways and people could relate to that, but in many other ways he was a pillar of his community and brought great joy to many many people. God bless you Fred ! We miss you…..
